Brake repair in Twin Falls
Pads, rotors, fluid and ABS repair for European cars and domestic trucks and SUVs, with the measurements in writing before any work starts.

Measured, then quoted
Brakes wear at different rates front to rear and side to side, so we measure every pad and rotor instead of quoting a full brake job by default.
We pull the wheels, measure pad thickness and rotor wear, check the calipers, hoses and fluid, and scan the ABS module. On European vehicles we replace the electronic wear sensors and reset the service indicator. Vehicles with an electronic parking brake go into service mode with the right software before the rear calipers come off.
The measurements go in your VHR, our Vehicle Health Report, with a written quote. If the brakes have life left, the report says how much.
Signs it's time to bring it in
These are the usual causes. We confirm which one it is before we quote anything.
| What you notice | What it usually is |
|---|---|
| Squeal when braking | Pads near the end of their life. |
| Grinding | Pads worn through to metal, which is cutting into the rotors. |
| Pulsing pedal or shaking wheel | Uneven rotor thickness. |
| Soft or low pedal | Air or moisture in the fluid, or a leak. |
| Pulling to one side when braking | A sticking caliper or a collapsed brake hose. |
| Brake wear message on the dash | A pad wear sensor has tripped. |
| Burning smell after driving | A dragging caliper or parking brake. |

Questions about brakes
How long do brake pads last?
Most last 30,000 to 70,000 miles. Heavy vehicles, towing and stop-and-go driving wear them faster. We measure yours in every VHR, so you'll know how much is left.
Do I need new rotors every time I replace pads?
Not always. We measure rotor thickness against the minimum stamped on the rotor. Many European manufacturers use softer rotors that wear along with the pads, so on those the two are often replaced together.
How often should brake fluid be changed?
Most manufacturers call for every two to three years regardless of mileage. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point and corrodes parts from the inside.
Why does my steering wheel shake when I brake?
Usually uneven rotor thickness, often called warped rotors. A sticking caliper or a worn suspension part can cause it too, so we check all three.
